We met at Spike’s in 2010 — I was working and Matthew came in to drop off event posters for Mike. I remember thinking he was really cute, even though I’d said I would never date someone in a band. A little while later Matthew messaged me and asked me out. Mike and his wife Michelle gave me a nudge — “You should go out with him, he is a great guy” — so I said yes. He borrowed Jesse’s car to look cool and we went to Applebee’s in Lakeville. The next two years were full of concerts, motorcycle rides, and simple nights together. When he wasn’t playing, Matthew would come into Spike’s and wait for me to get off shift. In early 2012 I found out I was pregnant — I was nervous, but Matthew calmed me and we started making plans. I moved in with him with my two cats, and in November 2012 our daughter Karyssa arrived a little early. She was so tiny in Matthew’s hands; he was the proudest dad. After more years of building our life together, Matthew finally proposed on February 7, 2025. It was worth the wait — we’re excited to celebrate with family and friends on September 26, 2026 in Owatonna, Minnesota.
