<p>They met at Spike’s in 2010 — Nicky was bartending and Matthew came in to drop off posters for Lost Highway’s upcoming show. She remembers thinking he was really cute, even though she had sworn she would never date someone in a band. About a week later Matthew messaged and asked her out; Mike and his wife Michelle gave her a nudge — “You should go out with him, he is a great guy” — so she said yes. He borrowed Jesse’s Shelby Mustang to look “cool” and they went to the VERY classy Applebee’s in Lakeville. He won her over, and the next two years were full of concerts, motorcycle rides, and quiet nights together. When he wasn’t playing, Matthew would come into Spike’s and wait for her shift to end; if she wasn’t working she’d go to his shows. In early 2012 Nicky found out she was pregnant — she was nervous, but Matthew calmed her and they started making plans. She moved in with him with her two cats, and in November 2012 their daughter Karyssa arrived a little early. Karyssa was tiny in Matthew’s hands; he was the proudest dad. After more years of building their life together, Matthew proposed on February 7, 2025. It was worth the wait — they can’t wait to celebrate with family and friends on September 26, 2026 in Owatonna, Minnesota.</p>

Karyssa is Nicky’s daughter and broke little best friend friend — and her Maid of Honor. Warm, loyal, and endlessly supportive, she balances Nicky’s strength with Matthew’s easygoing humor, and brings both families together with kindness and wit. Whether helping with details or keeping everyone laughing, Karyssa is the steady, loving presence the couple relies on. They couldn’t imagine celebrating without her.

Erin is Matthew’s sister and one of his closest friends. Warm, dependable, and endlessly encouraging, she’s been a steady source of support throughout their relationship. Her endless stream of puns keeps everyone smiling—annoying and adorable in equal measure—and they are so grateful to have her by their side as a bridesmaid.

Valerie is Nicky’s older sister and a steadfast presence in her life. Always ready with honest advice—whether asked for or not—she’s fiercely protective of everyone she loves. Practical, generous, and quietly brave, Valerie helps keep the family grounded during chaotic moments and celebrates the small joys with equal enthusiasm. As a bridesmaid, she brings wisdom, calm, and a fierce loyalty that means the couple (and everyone around them) can always count on her.

Teri is Nicky’s little sister and lifelong partner in mischief—inseparable growing up and still one of the first people Nicky calls. Unfailingly loyal and loving, she offers steady, nonjudgmental support and celebrates every milestone with genuine joy. As one of Nicky’s closest confidants and best friends, Teri brings warmth, laughter, and a calming presence to the whole family; the couple is so grateful to have her standing beside them as a bridesmaid.

Marc is Matthew's brother. Marc's dedication and attention to detail is a reason why Matthew asked him to take this important role, ensuring the day goes according to plan.

Polite, considerate, and trustworthy, Andrew is married to Matthew's sister Erin, and Matthew considers him a brother, so of course he would be part of the Wedding Party!

Ronny is Nicky’s little brother and her most like-minded partner in mischief. They share the same sense of humor, and no matter how long it’s been since they last saw each other, reunion feels like no time has passed. After fighting the hardest growing up, they now get along better than anyone—Nicky couldn’t imagine celebrating without him at her side.

Nick is Matthew's neighbor. He is a trusted friend and one of few people Matthew talks to on a regular basis. We are happy to have him as a Groomsman!
